This Two year course then took him onto studying for his BA Hons Fine Art degree at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University college at High Wycombe where he spent five Years until 2005 when he finished after receiving his degree.
During his time at University he (along with artist Annie Woodham) formed 'Hospart' an Art for Hospitals project. for more on this go to the Hospart Pages.
Davids work since 2000 has focused on what he calls ' Self History ' This is work based on old family photographs and memories of his childhood. Whilst in Berlin David found a few old photo Albums in a backstreet junk shop. the photos in this album told the story of a German family through the war years in fascinating Black & White photo's.
When he returned to England he wasted no time in incorporating some of these photographs into his work alongside his own family album photographs. The work has progressed to events that happen in the 'present' time using digital photographs taken at waist height in order that the eye has no influence on what the camera produces.
During his last year of studying at University he was picked to take part in a course for the 'Unit for arts within the criminal justice settings' after completing this course he was given a placement with the Koestler trust who were engaged in an Arts project at Rochester Prison. He now hopes to incorporate prison art into his 'Hospart' project.
In 2005 he was asked to come up with an idea for the 'Big Draw' event being held at Watford Grammar school for girls and devised a Video Drawing project which was a big success on the day and was open to other schools and members of the public. He was also asked by Watford Borough Councils Arts Dept to lead another 'Big Draw' event being staged at the Watford Museum and again this was open to open to all age groups and abilities and was a great success. His Third 'Big Draw' event for 2005 was at the Multi Racial Centre in Watford and was aimed at the Mother & Toddlers Group.
Because of the success of these events and in particular the 'Video Drawing' he has lead various three week projects at a Youth clubs in Hertfordshire where all those taking part received a DVD of the animated drawing they created.
David now runs an After School art class each week in Hemel Hempstead As well teaching mature students in afternoon/evening classes in Hertfordshire and various other tutoring classes elsewhere.
